Principal's Message
Orange City College of Social Work, Nagpur has never delimited itself to an organization imparting education solely, but has always essayed to overreach beyond the stereotyped boundaries prescribed by age old customs. Thinking out of the box has been the modus operandi of the college since its inception day. The work culture embraced by the institution does nothing short of refueling these ideals in the mundane activities of the institution. The various steps adopted by the institution from micro to macro level are all oriented to the ideal of reaching out to the people who are always at the receiving end.
The college was established in the year 1999 with the aim of empowering the feeble segment of society. And what better means could be then imparting education even to the person who stands at the last wrung of the socio-economic ladder. The Architect of Constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedker once said that education is the milk of lioness and one who consumes it shall never rest without roaring. At Orange City College of Social Work, Nagpur, we ensure that each and every child gets his or her share of this milk sans caste, class, creed, gender, etc. and for this it is made sure that the financial constraint doesn’t block the way of an enthusiastic child craving for knowldge. Orange City College of Social Work, Nagpur was established by visionary Hon. Dr. Chandansingh Rotele Sir, who himself has elevated to the success in life, fighting from the adverse circumstances, teaching him that there is no other alternative to success, but quality education. However, at Orange City College of Social Work, Nagpur it is not only the quality education which is prioritized but also preferences to the utilization of modern techniques in teaching learning process is given utmost importance. At Orange City College of Social Work, Nagpur, we believe that the student who is gearing up himself with the academic knowledge should also learn to practice it hands down. And the institution is the cradle for this. The institution facilitates a basket of opportunities for this to the students, so that he/she gets the preview of what he is expected to do once he steps out of the college as the professional social worker. Though, this doesn’t mean that once a student is out of sight, he is out of mind. He remains engaged with the college as an Alumnus. On the contrary, his/her responsibilities mount up by leaps and bounds, as the Alumni is now expected to pay off to the institution and its students through the knowledge and expertise they have gained by being a beacon of light to the current students.
The college prospectus is not merely a booklet that showcases the facilities and opportunities that the student avails after enrolling into the college, but it is a vision document of what the parents and guardians can expect from the institution of becoming of the students enrolled during the time the student spends in the college. And the college is committed to realize this ideal till the last drop of the ocean of resources it has at its disposal. I am sure that each and every student at present and in the time to come consumes every drop of the ocean of the resources that are facilitated only and only for the students and in return try to fulfill the expectation that the parents, teachers and the college has from them. I earnestly believe and pray that by the end of their academic journey, the students brings glory to the parents, college and other stakeholders and be a true, faithful and worthy citizen of the nation. In this entire journey, the college shall remain as a stout pillar on whom a student can forever rely upon. I welcome all the students enrolling into the college and ensure our patronage and support at each and every step that the student ascends to reach the zenith of academic success.
